Sales Return Setting
1, Use search function to find sales & receivable setup
2, in General Tab, you can setup the following according to your business needs.
(1) Return Receipt on Credit Memo - Select the option if you want to create posted return receipts by system when posting sales credit memo
(2) Copy Cmts. Ret. Ord. to Cr. Memo - Select the option if you want to copy comments from Sales Return Order to Sales Credit Memo
(3) Copy Cmts. Ret. Ord. to Ret. Rcpt - Select the option if you want to copy comments from Sales Return Order to Posted Return Receipt.
(4) Exact Cost Reversing Mandatory - select the option if need to force uses to apply the same cost when post the sales return.
If this option is selected, Appl-from item entry field on the sales return transaction must selected when post.
3, in Number Series Tab, you can setup number series for sales return related documents.
(1) Return Order Nos.
(2) Posted Return Receipt Nos.
(3) Credit Memo Nos.
(4) Posted Credit Memo Nos.
Setup return reason
Return reason code can be uses for identifying the reason of item return from customer or item return to vendor.
The return reason code to be copy from return document to item ledger entries when positing the document and it can use for analysis purpose.
Step-by-step guide
1, Use search function to find Return Reasons
2, Enter the following information
(1) Code - the return reason code
(2) Description - the description for return reason
(3) Default Location Code - (optional) select the default location if the return transaction for the reason
(4) Inventory Value Zero - (optional) select the option if the returned item don't increase the inventory value.
