The Duplicate Contact Search & Auto-Detection of duplicate is Duplicate-Detectionis only effective to the Company Contact Type but not Person Contact Type.
Duplicate search string and auto-search setup:
Step 1, Please search : Search and find 'Marketing Setup' page
- Please turn Turn on the buttons of 'Maintain Dupl. Search String' & 'Autosearch for Duplicates'.
- 'Search Hit%' determines the matching % from the Duplicate Search String Setup to detect duplicate values. Depends on the company's scenario, suggest to fill between 20-40%.
- After turning on 'Maintain Dupl. Search String', press 'No' for the inqury box.
- The 'Duplicate Search String Setup' allows you users to control the duplicate values show up in an overview page'Contact Duplicate Details'.
- Suggested that Suggest users to select both 'First' & 'Last' Part of Field so more precise to detecte duplicate.
- Length's default value is 5. Maximum can be adjusted to 10 if users want a more precise detection for long-longer text information.
Auto-Search Duplicate function:
Step 2: While creating the company contact with the same company name and address, the system will give warning.
(The Search Hit % affects the auto-search result. E.g. For Search Hit % = 100%, only for two company type contacts to be exactly the same will push the warning)
Press 'Yes' and select 'View', users can see the 'Contact Duplicate Details'.
Generate Duplicate Search String (Not commonly used)
While having 3 duplicate contacts detected:
After filtering City = 'Cambrige'
The company 'ABC LTD' with city = 'Cambridge' will show on the top of the table.
Select 'View' to look at the duplicate categories:
