When dealing with item images in Business Central, there are a few important considerations:

  1. Image Formats:

  2. Maximum File Size:

  3. Image Dimensions:

Now, if you’re importing multiple item pictures, follow these steps:

  1. Name Your Picture Files:

    • Rename each picture file according to the item number it corresponds to.
    • For example:
      • Item No. 1000 ➡️ 1000.bmp
      • Item No. 1001 ➡️ 1001.bmp
      • Item No. 1002 ➡️ 1002.bmp
  2. Create a ZIP File:

    • Collect all the renamed files into a ZIP folder.
    • In Windows Explorer, select the files and choose “Send to” ➡️ “Compressed (zipped) folder.”
  3. Import Item Pictures:

    • Navigate to Inventory Setup and choose the Import Item Pictures action.
    • In the Select a ZIP file field, pick the relevant ZIP folder and click Open.
    • A line will be created for each item and picture on the Import Item Pictures page.
    • Note:
      • If an item card already has a picture, the Picture Already Exists check box will be selected.
      • To prevent existing pictures from being replaced, deselect the Replace Pictures check box.
      • If you want to avoid replacing individual existing pictures, delete the relevant lines.
