As a warehousing system, "Item" is the most basic and important information part, and m-In also provides plenty of attribute for you to describe the detail.

Some fields are the definitive information on how their inventory ledger stored. Once those are set and get inventory movement, those fields can no longer be changed.


Step


When creating a product list, click "Master Data" > "Item", and then click "Create" 

You will proceed to new product creation screen, the screen includes several groups:

Details

Item No.: Use a code to represent the product, which can be abbreviated for the product (eg "mask-n95-hk-0010") or a unique name your company represent the product, if you don’t fill in, the system will automatically generate a unique number.

Base unit: The unit of the product when it being counted, such as pieces, pairs, cups, bottles, etc. The default unit is PCS (pieces), but you can definite the unit you are going to mostly used, such as "Boxes".

Category: Classification the goods, such as "mobile phone", "medicine", "cup"

Description: The name or brief description of the product

Item tracking: m-In provides advanced inventory recording functions, including:
a) Lot No.: For products manufactured by batches, such as food, medicines, and those products may have a expiry date
b) Serial No.: Each product has a specific serial number, such as electronic products, luxury watches, etc., to facilitate identification of individual products
c) None: Do ​​not do any item tracking, the goods are only counted by quantity.
Please note that this setting cannot be changed once set, because it will affect the entire inventory record. If Lot No. or Serial No. is selected, relevant information must be provided every time for this product during all warehouse operation.

Expiry date mandatory: (Only allow for Lot No. tracking) If the goods are products with a expiry date, for example: food, drinks, medicine, cosmetics or health care products, when it check, Expiry date must be filled in every Stock in

Expiry date calculation: preset expiry date expected calculation, so when you require to input expiry date on during stock in, it automatically pre-defined based on the calculation. For example if typical item have a 2 years expiration date, you can enter 2Y, the available unit is D=day, M=month, Y=year

Status: Whether the item is still available or not, if they are not available, the item  can no longer able to have warehouse operation

Item unit

The default unit of the Item is 1 PCS = 1 piece, and different units of the product can be added to facilitate counting, for example:
BOX = 25 pcs
CARTON=100 pcs


Expiry date calculation

  • The expiration date is preset, which is convenient for users to input. For example, if the shelf life of a general product is 2 years, you can enter 2Y. The available units are D=day, M=month, Y=year


Purchase

  • Cost per item: the cost of each item
  • Supplier code: Supplier or manufacturer's code

Sales

  • Price per item: The selling price of each item

Variant

  • Some products have different variants, such as large, medium and small size or color of clothing, or mobile phone capacity 128GB 256GB, etc.

Barcode

  • Item barcode: The bar code on the product, for used with handheld scanners.
    Each bar code can represent different units and variants, such as 12345 pieces, 12346 is a box
