When dealing with item images in Business Central, there are a few important considerations:
Image Formats:
- Supported formats for item images include JPEG, PNG, GIF, and BMP 1.
- Ensure your images are in one of these formats to be compatible with Business Central.
Maximum File Size:
- The maximum allowable file size for an item image is less than 4 MB 12.
- Keep your images within this size limit to avoid any issues during import.
Image Dimensions:
- Images must have dimensions greater than 50 x 50 pixels 1.
- Make sure your images meet this requirement to ensure clarity and proper display.
Now, if you’re importing multiple item pictures, follow these steps:
Name Your Picture Files:
- Rename each picture file according to the item number it corresponds to.
- For example:
- Item No. 1000 ➡️ 1000.bmp
- Item No. 1001 ➡️ 1001.bmp
- Item No. 1002 ➡️ 1002.bmp
Create a ZIP File:
- Collect all the renamed files into a ZIP folder.
- In Windows Explorer, select the files and choose “Send to” ➡️ “Compressed (zipped) folder.”
Import Item Pictures:
- Navigate to Inventory Setup and choose the Import Item Pictures action.
- In the Select a ZIP file field, pick the relevant ZIP folder and click Open.
- A line will be created for each item and picture on the Import Item Pictures page.
- Note:
- If an item card already has a picture, the Picture Already Exists check box will be selected.
- To prevent existing pictures from being replaced, deselect the Replace Pictures check box.
- If you want to avoid replacing individual existing pictures, delete the relevant lines.
